The Northeast Province held its annual Leadership Conference at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) from January 2 to 4. Attendees came from eight universities: Temple University, Lehigh University, University of New Hampshire, Syracuse University, Seton Hall University, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
The focus of the conference was aligned with the Phi Kappa Theta Mission statement, specifically “developing men to be effective leaders” so that they will “passionately serve society, fraternity,
and God.”
Brother Joe Przybyla discussed leadership and accountability, and living and playing in accordance with our ideals being the key to risk management. Brother Peter Bielagus’ presentation provided information useful for developing and improving financial skills everyone needs for success. Brother Greg Stein’s keynote presentation “The Fellowship of the Early Christians” explored both sites and texts which help to provide a deeper understanding and appreciation of our ideals and ritual. Brother Matt Sullivan held two sessions on recruitment based on ideas from Phired Up Productions. Brother John Covert made a presentation chapter financial management. The final presentation by Brother Rob Riggs introduced the new Phi Kappa Theta Chapter Accreditation Program, being rolled out this spring.
Following the meeting, the RPI chapter invited us back to Ski Lodge (as their house is known
on campus) for dinner and an evening social event.
