JOINT STRATEGIC PLANNING TASK FORCE

ABOUT THE Task Force

During the 64th Biennial Convention held this past summer in Lexington, delegates proposed and adopted legislation entitled: Resolution on Strategic Plan Task Force. As the title suggests, the resolution formed a temporary task force charged with the formation of a Strategic Plan that outlines the unified priorities of Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity and Foundation. The Strategic Plan will be presented for adoption at the 65th Biennial Convention in the summer of 2025.

At the direction of the Fraternity President and Foundation Chairman, the Task Force immediately began work in the hours following the 64th Biennial Convention to establish a robust process that involves a broad set of stakeholders, including associate members, collegiate brothers, alumni, housing corporations, university professionals, and other partners. All meetings of the Task Force and subcommittees are open to all members. We expect a final draft of the Strategic Plan to be published in May 2025.

Task Force Co-Chairs

JOINT STRATEGIC PLANNING PROCESS

The JSP Task Force is in the initial formation phase, which includes the creation of a few initial committees and aligning on a process framework to guide the remaining work. At the core of the effort is the Planning Committee, which is composed of the Boards of Trustees of the Fraternity and Foundation, designated staff of both organizations, subject matter experts, and other invited participants.

Strategic Planning is an iterative process that requires broad participation, thoughtful contemplation, and challenging discussions. We envision this process to involve hundreds of brothers - collegiate and alumni alike - and take approximately 18-20 months to complete.

JOINT STRATEGIC PLAN TIMELINE

The Task Force will develop the Joint Strategic Plan across four phases ahead of the 2025 Biennial Convention. Each phase will last between 1-3 calendar quarters, though phases may overlap or have concurrent work. Participation and level of involvement of stakeholders will evolve through each phase as needed. A more detailed timeline can be found on Slide 24 of the Planning Committee Session 3 presentation, which is linked in the Resources section.

JOINT STRATEGIC PLAN TASK TEAMS

The Task Force will establish many small, temporary task teams to research, discuss, and analyze data that will eventually form the final JSP Plan. Each Task Team will focus on a specific topic and generate a report with their findings.
