Coronavirus (COVID-19) Resource Guide
Phi Kappa Theta Brothers, Mentors, and Volunteers –
Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity is committed to supporting our collegiate members and alumni during this unprecedented time. Chapters are each planning for a safe and successful start of the the Fall Semester in their own ways. Some plan to return in-person, others continue virtual education, and some may experience a hybrid of the two.
It is important for each Collegiate Chapter and its leadership team to ensure that their brothers are following guidelines and expectations set by their state, local, and federal authorities, as well as institutional leaders.
For chapters that will be returning to campus in Fall of 2020, please access our planning guide for best practices in preparations for a safe return.
Please see below for FAQ’S for each operational area
For immediate questions, please reach out to your chapter’s Performance Coach
Additionally, Please review the following recommendations regarding chapter operations and general functions of engagement:
CHAPTER MEETINGS
The guidance provided by your host institution comes first.
Follow the recommendations made by your host institution for all registered student organizations in regards to regular gatherings – this includes chapter meetings.
Consider utilizing online meeting tools such as Google Hangouts Meet, GoToMeeting, Zoom, etc.
Refer to this article for best practices on conference calls.
Also consider live collaboration tools (e.g., a virtual whiteboard) such as Miro, Milanote, Google Docs, Trello, and your chapter’s ASANA team.
CHAPTER SUPPORT
Your chapter's designated Performance Coach is available to host conference calls with your chapter officers and advisors.
For any questions or concerns regarding chapter support, please contact your chapter’s designated Performance Coach or our Director of Fraternal Operations.
HOUSING
All members should follow the recommendations set in place by host institutions regarding housing status and eligibility.
If members are tenants of a chapter facility, please contact your local institution to learn more about changing policies and procedures that might affect access, occupancy, and amenities.
Should a chapter facility require closure, we recommend utilizing your summer closing policies and procedures.
Refer to this checklist for best practices on summer break preparations.
We ask that all alumni boards, housing corporations, or other groups that manage a chapter facility to seek any precautionary measures recommended by the host institution.
Should your host institution transition to online learning, please ensure your chapter members are safe, secure, and adequately accommodated for online learning.
Should individual members of your chapter become adversely affected by changes to housing accommodations, please direct them to the appropriate resources provided by your host institution.
